Meet Tucker
Welcome to the World, Mr. Tucker - It's a BOY!
Born on March 12th, 2022, at 3:47 AM,
weighing in at a healthy 7.3 ounces.
By evening, his weight increased to 7.5 ounces.
Tucker made a grand entrance, displaying a beautiful white coat accented with unique black markings around his eyes and ears, highlighted by an adorable black spot on his head. Connor, on the other hand, features charming brown spots above both eyes and on his cheeks.
Tucker's Weight Tracking
I began tracking Tucker's weight from the moment he was born and continued until he reached 8 weeks old, measuring him both in the morning and evening. The transformation in his growth has been remarkable to observe. It’s true—puppies certainly don’t stay small for long!
This is Tucker's Story
Welcome to Tucker's Story!
Mia is preparing for her second litter, with her due date set for March 7th, 2022.
This marks Mia-Bean's second litter, and surprisingly, she is expecting another singleton pup. As much as it took me by surprise, it's an uncommon occurrence among Jack Russell Terriers; however, singleton births are not unheard of in Scottish Terriers.
Once again, Mia has welcomed a single pup, who is growing strong and thriving. His sister, Ava, is now 21 weeks old.
Mia's second pregnancy has been going smoothly so far—nothing too out of the ordinary for her. While she still exhibits a bit of attitude, that's to be expected! With just 6 days remaining, we’re in the waiting phase now.
When Mia gave birth to Ava, she was only one day shy of her due date. Now, with a mere 6 days to go, I find myself on Puppy Watch.
As we approach the due date of March 7th, 2022, there’s still some uncertainty. It also depends on when Mia conceived—or rather, when it actually took. Baxter caught her 9 times, including 3 times in one day, all after the initial mating. So it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact moment of conception. I’m just hoping for a smooth delivery and a successful outcome. Today, I’ll be keeping a very close eye on her.
It has been 63 days since the first time she was caught, yet there are still no signs of little ones. This means implantation likely did not occur on the first day. As of now, we are two days past her initial date of March 9th, and there are still no pups in sight. We continue to monitor her closely at this stage.
March 12th, 2022
So today we have reached the day for Mia to have her pups. How many at this point is still unknown. The past couple of days she has been wanting to nest in my bed again. But that clearly is a big no, no and a sign that pups are getting closer to enter into this world. This where I had put her in her Whelping pen, It was time. Mia was restless throughout the day, it wasn't till we went to bed at 12 that I noticed she kept moving around the bed, kicking her feet and just could not settle no matter what she and I tried. She even made her way outside.
However, here we are 3am when she went out for potty, I had grabbed a banana and shared it with Mia, I had laid back in bed under the covers she went, I had placed the bed protector on the bed just incase, at the same time hoping now lol.
All of a sudden 30 minutes later I feel a push. In her Pen right away she went. She had him at 3:47 am weighing in at 7.3 ounces. Mia attended to the little one immediately. As I waited for more to come, hours had passed and turns out yet agin another singleton pup. Mia had him all cleaned up, he was feeding like he should, by the evening he weighed in at 7.5 ounces.
Mia and little man spent the night in the whelping pen, as she is still bleeding and needs to be with her baby.
