This may come to a surprise for some and may not for many. All of us who love Jack Russells we all know just how intelligent they can be. 

With all the training Mia went through within the first 6 months of me having her she did extremely well and amazing. Mia showed so much enthusiasm, joy, willingness to want to learn, she was right up in there and wanted to learn, she was eager to.

Jacks are known as a working breed until the War since then they had become a persons best friend and companion.

This breed absolutely loves to learn and keep busy, it was breed into them to work. They absolutely love to work, and please their owners. 

When I began to train her, I would also take her out on walks everyday around our neighbourhood around a few blocks. I have to say it was one of the best things I did was routine path work with her. 

One day we were out in the school field just playing ball. She was just being a dog that while also working on RE-CALL from a distance. Training always went on and happened. 

During this time, I had tossed the ball by the school, and it's a big field. Mia began to run after the ball got it and was making her way back to me. Within seconds I could hear voices behind me but up the hill. I turned could not see anyone, within seconds two big dogs come running down the hill, all you can hear is. It's ok they are friendly. These two big dogs continued to run and ran at Mia. At this point her RE-CALL was not working. Mia had dropped the ball, turned and ran through the bush. I left everything there and ran after my dog. 

I went through the bush where she went, no sign of her. I started to walk up the hill in full blown tears. At this point there was no sign of her I had continued to call for her, still crying and then I got to the point where I was hyperventilating and fell to the side walk. 

Some woman saw me and asked if I was ok, I replied and said yes, Just told her that I lost my dog, two big dogs chased out the field. 

Once I was able to catch my breath for a bit I had called home to let my kids father know what happened. As he was about to leave to come meet me to help find her, he had opened the door and told me that she was home. 

** MIA RAN HOME **

I was in shock and could not even process that at the moment. 

It definitely took me a second. 

When it had finally caught up to me I walked home, picked up my dog and held her. I then made my way to the school hoping her stuff would still be there.

sure enough it was. I had her leash, ball treats.

As I got there with her, these two guys came up to me and apologized for it, However, I told them that they were in the wrong, I let them know that as a responsible dog owner you never just let your dogs go like that in any area (Does not matter where you are). considering everyone uses the school field, I said as a responsible dog onwer you should never have your dog off lead like that and allow them to run. At the end of the day they don't know if that persons dog isn't friendly or have some kind of anxiety, or even to say them friendly dogs ran to another, doesn't mean their nice and friendly dogs would not attack if they didn't feel threaten by another dog. 

Sometimes we do run into careless people who think it is ok for their dogs to do certain things, but in reality it's not.

Celebrating just a few days after turning 5!

It’s been a while, but here’s a quick update on Mia-Bean’s outdoor adventures!

She’s been running joyfully through the snow.

Mia-Bean also had a delightful visit to the big bear at the store.

And of course, she’s been enjoying some lovely walks.

Spring Fling Beach Event

Spring was in full swing at the beach, and we were ready for some fun in the sun. With the heat rising, we decided to take a break for some food. We found a shady spot for Mia, who happily watched people and their dogs stroll by. She was the perfect companion, staying calm and collected as always.

It's that time of year. Everyone will be going camping.

Out on a walk. It was a little warm.

As we strolled to my sister's house, I couldn't help but notice how Mia-Bean walked beside me. She cleverly stayed in my shadow to keep cool. What a smart little girl!
